Fancy saving money on your water bill and helping the environment? Then check out the Waterpebble. It’s a new green gadget that is designed to raise awareness of your water consumption by monitoring how much water you use in the shower and telling you when to get out!
It’s a small pebble like device that you put in the shower next to the plug and it basically checks how much water is going down the plug hole. This clever little pebble memorises your first shower (from when you start using it) as a benchmark, then gradually sets about reducing the amount of water you use by fractionally reducing your shower time. It does this via a series of traffic lights flashing from green when you start to amber halfway through and finally red when it’s time to get out. It effectively trains you to use less water when you shower without you really having to think about it, all you need to know is red means it’s time to turn off that shower!
Simply set the Waterpebble by pressing a little button located on the back, pop in the shower and then keep an eye on the colours. It can be reset at any time and the battery should last for around 6 months according to the manufacturers.
The Waterpebble is available now and retails for around £8. For more details check out www.waterpebble.com

If you’ve got a few cheeky eye wrinkles appearing and like myself can’t really get your head around the whole Botox thang – then check out these babies from Japan – I mean it couldn’t really be anywhere else could it. Simply wearing these ‘goggle-style’ glasses for 5 minutes every day will apparently improve the appearance of your face. Will it? I mean *really* will it?
On the inside of the ‘Mejikara’ there are specially-designed ridges which massage and help your skin. It puts gentle pressure on the skin and pushes those sagging eyes back up to where they once were. But how do they stay up once you take the goggles off, that’s what I want to know?!
It might seem like another wacky Japanese invention but in fact the ‘Mejikara’ has been a bit of a sleeper hit, and I suppose it does beat injecting your face with poison! Do we love it or leave it?

RIM Blackpad

Due to be available as of November, this 7″ high end tablet is designed more as en enterprise tool so predominantly aimed at business users. It will include a new graphical menu system, secure email and of course wi-fi. We love Blackberry so will be interesting to see how it compares to the iPad…
HP Slate
Due to arrive early 2011, this will be a Windows 7 computer that has great touch screen capability and fast web browsing. Keep a look out for the so-called PalmPad, HP’s rumoured webOS tablet, which is said to be landing later this year, complete with stylus.
Samsung Galaxy Tab

This arrives in September and is a 7″ tablet with a good quality OLED display, powered by a 1.2GHz processor. It is probably the closest rival to the iPad and runs Android 2.2. It also has wi-fi and 3G.
